New South Wales coach Brad Fittler has jokingly revealed how he wanted to punch young Manly ace Tom Trbojevic in the head after a discussion they had weeks ago.
Fittler says he gave Trbojevic specific instructions ahead of a club game but the gun fullback immediately let him down.
“I sat down with him a couple of weeks ago and said, ‘mate, I want you in the team’,” Fittler told Triple M.
“‘But the one thing I can’t cop in your game is how many forward passes you throw’. It’s a real irk of mine, I reckon I went through my whole career and didn’t throw one.
“He played that week and threw two! I was ready to punch him in the head.”
