One of Australia’s great modern forwards doesn’t believe Canberra Raiders centre Joey Leilua is ready to wear the Kangaroos jersey.

Speaking on Fox Sports’ On The Couch, Corey Parker said there were better players to choose from.

“As devastating a ball runner as BJ is, I don’t think he is the green and gold centre just yet,” Parker said.

“In that team he would go okay because of the players around him. “But I just think there are better players in that position.”

Speaking on the same show, retired premiership-winner Michael Ennis thinks former teammate Jack Bird should be selected at right centre.

“People will probably take it as bias but I believe Jack Bird is the best right centre in the game at the moment,” Ennis said.

“If we are picking it on form I think he should be there.”
