North Queensland Cowboys legend Matt Bowen has begun his coaching career as a part-time assistant with the Townsville Blackhawks Intrust Super Cup team.

The former Australian and Queensland fullback will assist the outside backs at the club. Townsville is also the feeder team to the Cowboys and it comes after Bowen came out of retirement last year to play for the Blackhawks side.
