Leeds Rhinos say sorry not sorry, Segeyaro isn’t going anywhere

The Leeds Rhinos have emphatically shut down rumours their star hooker James Segeyaro was on his way to Cronulla-Sutherland.

Segeyaro recently re-signed with Leeds for two more seasons but that didn’t stop The Daily Telegraph reporting Wednesday that Segeyaro was keen to join the NFL champions.

Leeds CEO Gary Hetherington, currently in Australia, said there was no chance of the former Panther linking with the Sharks.

“There has been interest from NRL clubs in James and one club in particular, but I have explained to them that Leeds Rhinos are not prepared to consider a release or transfer so that is the end of the matter,” Hetherington said.

“I met up with James here in Sydney and he is in good condition and due back with us on January 3.”
