I’m sorry: Ben Barba apoligies to Cronulla teammates via WhatsApp

Troubled former Cronulla star Ben Barba has apoligised to the rest of the Sharks premiership-winning team after the 2012 Dally M Medal winner tested positive for cocaine and was subsequently sacked by the club.

The diminutive fullback is now in a Thailand rehab facility where he is reportedly working through a number of issues.

Cronulla winger Valentine Holmes says Sharks players received a video message from Barba via WhatsApp.

“He said he is sorry. It’s unfortunate what’s happened,” Holmes told News Corp while in camp with the Australian team in England.

“We’ve all been supporting him. He is doing pretty well.

“All the boys in Sydney have gone to see him before he left.

“He is someone I looked up to and would like to inspire to play like. It was good having him at the club and to learn from him.”
