A petition on change.org is asking people to sign in support of getting former Brisbane Broncos and North Queensland fringe winger Scott Minto to the Auckland Nines in 2017.

The petition reads: “I assure you that this petition is in no way a Joke or satire in anyway” with the hashtag #FromMintoToAuckland.

It seems Minto has a few fans out there and they’re desperate to see the lanky Queenslander get his shot at the Nines – just like legends Brad Fittler and Steve Menzies.

It’s yet to be proven if Minto is not in fact Wayne Bennett’s biological son.

The petition has 40 signatures thus far and requires 60 more.
