Newcastle Knights recruit Rory Kostjasyn says he will use the time he spent at both the Melbourne Storm and North Queensland to help improve his young teammates.

The Knights are back-to-back wooden spooners but Kostjasyn is adamant Newcastle’s rebuild begins with the small things.

“The way they [Cowboys and Storm] go about preparing week to week,” he said.

“They do all the little things right, not only at training but at home as well. A lot goes into performing consistently every week for 30 weeks, so hopefully I can pass that information on for the boys to build, learn and improve.”
