The Penrith Panthers have pulled Bryce Cartwright from the New South Wales State of Origin camp in Coffs Harbour with the young forward instead training at the Panthers.
Cartwright was again named as a development player in the Blues squad but Panthers General Manager Phil Gould said he was better served with his club side.
“He’s already done the development camp,’’ Gould told The Daily Telegraph.
“He’s had some back pain and some different things, so he’ll go through rehab later in the week.
“He’s also here getting ready for the game against the Sharks. It’s important game. They’re all important.’’
