Nathan Brown wants the NRL to hit players where it hurts most

Former Super League coach and current Newcastle mentor Nathan Brown has backed the English model for lesser judiciary charges and wants the NRL to consider fining players for on-field foul play.

“The whole grading system needs a real good look at,” Brown said.

“There are some instances where a penalty is sufficient. I know we need to police foul play as well. I thought it worked reasonably well in England for the lesser charges where people aren’t getting hurt.

“Players obviously don’t like getting hit in the pocket either.”

It comes on the back of yet another suspension for the Knights with Mitch Barnett to miss this Sunday’s match.
