Gallen won’t stand aside for fresh blood if Game III is a dead rubber

Outgoing New South Wales leader Paul Gallen says he wouldn’t stand aside for fresh blood if Game III in Sydney was a dead rubber.

There are reports that the NRL fears a crowd of under 50,000 would show up at ANZ Stadium if Blues lose Game II.

“It would be upsetting. When you play Origin, every game is important and we would be out there busting our guts still,” Gallen said.

“We are not planning on that. We are planning on winning this game and that’s all we are concerned about.

“I certainly won’t be standing down. I want to win on Wednesday night. I want to win the series and I want to win every game I play.”
