Gallen defends Blair and tells Tallis to take a chill pill

Another polarising figure, Cronulla and New South Wales skipper Paul Gallen, has come to the defence of besieged Brisbane Bronco Adam Blair.

Blair has been suspended for a week for his chicken wing tackle on Brisbane teammate Adam Blair in the Anzac Test last weekend.

I think Andrew McCullough summed it up best – he would have him in every team he plays in,” Gallen told Sky Sports Radio.

“I don’t know Adam.

“But if guys like McCullough are going in to bat for him he must be doing something right.

“And he is playing for his country and won grand finals – he can’t be all bad.”

It comes after legend Gorden Tallis’ verbal barrage of Blair and his on-field antics.

Tallis had previously said Blair was “one of the dirtiest players” in the NRL.
