Corey Oates ticks all the boxes for State of Origin says Kevin Walters

Queensland State of Origin coach Kevin Walters has given the biggest hint yet that Brisbane Broncos winger Corey Oates was set to make his Origin debut for the Maroons.

Walters believes Oates’ big body and amazing ability to find the try line would make him a serious threat to the New South Wales Blues.

“He’s built for Origin,” Walters said.

“Hopefully he can continue his form and we can select from there.

“Obviously, three positions have come available from last year’s series and we have to fill that void.”

Broncos teammate Darius Boyd is expected to play fullback after his performance for Australia at Hunter Stadium.
