The New Zealand Warriors are making no excuses after being hammered by Melbourne on Anzac Day 42-0.

Skipper Ryan Hoffman said the Warriors weren’t prepared to put their bodies on the line.

“We waited – we waited for Melbourne to run at us, we waited for Melbourne to run over us, we weren’t willing enough to put our bodies in front,” he said.

“We took some soft options defensively and they equate to tries.

“We just kept getting ourselves going backwards when we weren’t in the right mindset to be able to wrestle it back.”
