Incoming Titan defends player welfare and hammers fans on social media

English International Dan Sarginson, on his way to the Gold Coast Titans in 2017, has hammered British fans on Twitter saying they don’t realise poor scheduling is causing a huge amount of injuries in the Super League.

It comes at the same time as a similar argument in the NRL that five day turnarounds are hurting clubs and their players.

The ball got rolling after Sarginson reacted to a public poll with the Wigan back tweeting, “29% of people voting to keep Easter period after 40 injuries, it’s alright for some being sat behind the TV chilling.”

He then followed that up with, “For those took that the wrong way apologies just expressing how every player feels about it, it’s easy to just say ‘it’s part of the job’”.

When prodded by a fan, Sarginson hit back – big time: “Yeah I am serious, another ignorant fan doesn’t care about player welfare. You wouldn’t last 80 mins for a grand pal”.
