Penrith Panthers legend Brad Fittler has reservations over selecting Penrith young gun Bryce Cartwright for State of Origin this year.

The 1991 premiership winner believes there is still plenty of improvement left in the backrower.

“Maybe off the bench, super-talented,” Fittler told sportsfan.com.au.

“There are a lot of errors in his game.

“The best part of his game and the worst part have to be a bit closer.”

Fittler also pushed the claims for another Panther in winger Josh Mansour.

“We need to be able to bring the ball out strong, so that’s one of the thoughts with Josh Mansour, he’s a strong runner.”
