St George Illawarra’s veteran winger Jason Nightingale has revealed that Josh Dugan won’t play fullback for the Dragons in round one and will instead line up in the centres ending speculation on where Coach Paul McGregor would play the Australian International.
It’s now expected Melbourne recruit Kurt Mann will be the Saints’ first-choice custodian.
“At the moment the plan is to play him in the centres. He’ll be playing in the centres next week in Nelson (trial match),” Nightingale told Sky Sports Radio.
Nightingale conceded the Dragons were desperate to change their attacking style in a bid to score more points.
“A big part of that change is Duges to the centres,” he said.
“We get a lot of points when he plays in the centres and can finish off plays.
“If I’m outside him I’m sure he will be able to provide a lot of spark and an attacking flair that we’ve been lacking a little bit.”
