The NZ Herald is reporting All Blacks legend Carlos Spencer could be a shock inclusion at the Nines at his beloved Eden Park where he spent many years plying his trade for the Blues in the Super Rugby.
According to the report, Spencer is in “intense training and will be in very good shape.”
Spencer was once linked to the Warriors in what would have been huge news across the ditch and would have almost certainly became a dual international.
Meanwhile Sydney Roosters’ English International Joe Burgess says he didn’t want to regret not having a crack at the NRL and went to veterans at former club Wigan for advice.
“I always used to enjoy watching the NRL,” Burgess roosters.com.au.
“(But) it took me a few months to decide. I discussed it with my parents.
“And I asked older players (at Wigan) and they said they never got the chance because of wives or kids and I didn’t want to leave it that late.
“I took my chance when I could.”
