Waves Tigers Coaching Director Ashley Simpson says the addition of some new blood and the rise of their premiership-winning Under 18’s will see the club more than competitive in Bundaberg’s 2016 competition.

“We’re definitely trying to make the club competitive again,” Simpson said.

“Last year was disappointing for all and we are aiming to help make the Bundaberg clubs competitive again.

“Unfortunately a few have left town (from Under 18’s squad) but we’re happy to have a couple coming through.

“We’re still aiming to make a few more signings but we want to make sure these players can find jobs in the region first before moving to us.”

The Tigers bolstered their stocks for 2016 with the signings of Rueben Baillie from the Sunshine Coast Falcons and Tien Nguyen from Brothers with the latter scoring a treble in Brothers’ 2015 title win.
