Penrith Panthers legend Tony Puletua might be 36 but says he is ready for one last hurrah in the National Rugby League in 2016.
Puletua won the 2003 premiership with the Panthers in a career that spanned 12 seasons in the NRL.
“I’m going to get home, settle in then set up some meetings with clubs I played at back in the day,” Puletua told Hull Daily Mail.
“Nothing’s cemented but I’ll see what I can get when I get back home.
“I had mixed feelings about finishing up. I kind of wanted to get away from the game but there’s loads of people telling me to stay in it.”
Meanwhile it is being reported that the next Immortal will be announced in 2016 by Rugby League Week but it will not be Johnathan Thurston.
Thurston must be retired for five years before being considered with the early favourites being fellow Queenslanders Mal Meninga and Darren Lockyer.
St. George legend Norm Provan is an outside chance but has been overlooked several times.
