Boyd: You Can’t Stop RTS

Brisbane fullback Darius Boyd says you can’t stop Sydney Roosters superstar Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, only limit him ahead of their preliminary final at Suncorp Stadium.

“He’s always on the ball and is going to get 20 carries and 200m,” Boyd said.

“As long as we can limit him to that and not too much else with his footwork and support play.

“We have to keep him to his hit-ups out of the backfield, doing the stuff that’s good for his team but in a way that’s a waste of what he can do. We can’t give him the ball with space to put footwork on to score tries.

“If he can get 200m from just 10m runs from his tryline that’s good for us.”

Meanwhile Melbourne coach Craig Bellamy has told nrl.com that he doesn’t blame people for thinking the Storm were finished when Billy Slater went down with injury.

“At the start of the year we were certainly written off and when Billy got hurt we were big time written off then,” Bellamy said.

“But having said that, it was people’s opinion at the start of the year, they are paid to have an opinion and good luck to them.”

“I certainly don’t take it personally but I suppose they were looking at our more inexperienced group that we had the year before or whether they think the ‘Big Three’ is getting old or getting past it, I’m not quite sure what their reasons were.”
