Former teammates in Parramatta’s great teams of the 1980’s, Peter Sterling and Eels Chairman Steve Sharp were on opposite sides of the fence last night.
Sharp appeared on Fox Sports’ Sterlo On The Couch and tried to explain the Foran situation.
“Kieran’s management have been very professional and we’re at the negotiaion tables,” Sharp said.
“We’re in there with as good a chance as anybody. I understand it’s disappointing from the fans’ point of view, that it’s got to this point, but we have to look at the club’s perspective as far as the risks of management goes and good corporate governance.
“The has been a breakdown in our processes and we’re looking to make sure that doesn’t happen again.”
Sterling wasn’t going to let the boss off lightly.
“Well that’s serious, because for you to say we’re in as good a position as anybody else in trying to secure him – he should be Parramatta’s now, there shouldn’t be anybody else in contention.”
