New South Wales coach Laurie Daley has told Blues fans to put a sock in it and he’ll pick whoever he thinks can win Origin II at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

“Put it this way, you go and grab four people and ask them to pick their NSW side — I guarantee those four people haven’t got the same side.” Daley told The Daily Telegraph.

“That’s the reality and I am in charge. It’s my team and this is how we want to play and how we will get it done.

“Everyone is entitled to an opinion but this is the side I want. I know other people wouldn’t pick this side and I am cool with that.

“But for me it’s about getting a side that I think can do the job. You can’t control (criticism).

“…Once the team is announced you want everyone to get on board and support the NSW train.

“You just hope everyone is supportive. That is what we want — for NSW people to have a team they can be proud of, regardless of the result, they have a team out there fighting for them and they respect us for that.”
