Brisbane Broncos coach Wayne Bennett says Darius Boyd’s return will be entirely on the fullback himself.

“If he’s not right, he’s the only one who really knows,” Bennett told The Courier Mail.

“It’s a day-to-day thing with Darius. If there is a hiccup (tomorrow) and he wakes up sore, then who knows when he returns.

“But he’s looking good, he’s getting better, it’s all coming together.

“He is way ahead of his schedule and I now have to be careful and make sure he’s 100 per cent right.

“Darius will be part of the (decision-making) process. I will watch him train. I know what he can do.

“I will have a chat to Jeremy (Hickmans) and everyone will have a bit of a say, but the end result will be with Darius.’’
