Mounties and Knights Live This Saturday on RadioHub

Blink and you might miss it. The rugby league season is rollicking along at a frantic speed with round six of the VB NSW Cup coming to you this weekend.

The81stMInute will bring you the huge clash between Mounties and the Newcastle Knights, live from 2pm Saturday, on radiohub.com.au.

Only a few short weeks ago, Mounties put the cleaners through Manly-Warringah but came up against a far more committed Sea Eagles in round five, eventually securing a 26-24 victory at Central Coast Stadium.

Ricky Stuart’s halfback merry-go-round was obviously felt at feeder level with Sam Williams moving into the NRL for Canberra and rising star Mitch Cornish getting the axe. But it’s hardly a problem for Steve Antonelli’s men as Cornish was the architect behind most of Mounties’ 2014 campaign.

Cornish scored a try and kicked three goals in his Mounties return and will be better for the run, combination wise, this weekend.

Mounties are now 5-0 and sitting pretty, undefeated, atop the VB NSW Cup table after five rounds and face a Knights side who’ve started the year with three wins and two losses. They are however coming off the back of two consecutive wins against the Penrith Panthers (defending premiers) and 2014 finalists Illawarra Cutters.

The Knights will also have the added worry of getting in the way of internet sensation Luke “The Ram” Page. The pocket-rocket prop has been on fire to start 2015 and we were lucky enough to call him a few weeks back at Aubrey Keech Reserve. He’s either fearless or can see thirteen of his mother-in-law when he gets the pill, maybe both.

Catch the action with myself, Matt French and Lewis Sheppard, live from 2pm Saturday on radiohub.com.au.
