Brett Kimmorley believes Brisbane captain Justin Hodges should be allowed to play in the NRL Grand Final in his final ever rugby league game.
“Finals, grand finals and Origin games should not be treated in the same way as a regular season game under the Match Review Committee” Kimmorley wrote for foxsports.com.au.
“Now that Brisbane captain Justin Hodges is facing the prospect of missing his final game in the NRL, the grand final nonetheless, we need to have a serious look at the way we go about these big games.
“Something as small as 100 penalty points for a ‘dangerous throw’ should not wipe you out of a grand final.
“It is obvious that Aidan Guerra jumped to milk the penalty because he has admitted as much.”
Kimmorley also praised young five-eight Anthony Milford.
“.. Anthony Milford is a very special player and it is no wonder the Broncos fought so hard to bring him home. They have handled him beautifully this year and haven’t put a lot of structure in his game, which allows him to play his natural game.”
