It has been nine years since Brisbane lock Corey Parker won his first and only NRL crown and now the veteran is urging his young team-mates to embrace the week ahead of their all-Queensland showdown with the Cowboys on Sunday night.
“This is a special time. Enjoy it for the moment,” Parker said.
“You’ve got to enjoy this and understand what it feels like but I can assure you it gets a lot better.
“It does get a lot better.
“As a group, we need to recognise that.
“We’re off to a grand final.
“It’s pretty special.
“They don’t come around real often. It’s a great time in your career.
“I’m really proud these guys will be able to experience what it’s like to be part of a grand final.”
It is a mouth-watering showdown after the same two teams played one of the most exciting finals in recent years at Suncorp Stadium in Week One of the playoffs.
