NSW Blues State of Origin coach Michael Maguire has been officially appointed new head coach of the Brisbane Broncos.

The Broncos just days ago confirmed club legend Kevin Walters was being moved on with reports suggesting negotiations with Maguire have been going on for several weeks.

“Michael brings a wealth of experience across more than two decades of coaching and he has tasted success at club, state and international level,” Broncos CEO Dave Donaghy said.

Maguire’s contract runs until the end of 2027.
