The rugby league season is not over!

It continues this weekend with the English Super League Grand Final with history on the line.

French club Catalans are on the cusp of their first premiership against the mighty St Helens who have won the last two back-to-back and it all goes down at Old Trafford, Sunday morning 4am (AEDT).

SAM TOMKINS – CATALANS

Just won the Man of Steel for the French club on the cusp of their first premiership. A classy fullback who spent a few years at the Warriors in the NRL before heading back to Europe. There’s an argument that he’d be much better if he came back to the NRL under the new rules.

LACHLAN COOTE – SAINTS

A premiership-winner at the Cowboys. Coote has been quality for St Helens and is one of the most dangerous players in England.

SAM KASIANO – CATALANS

How good was this beast in the NRL? We all thought he’d drift off into the sunset after leaving the NRL but has got really fit and a legitimate threat every time he goes near the ball. Monster.

JOSH DRINKWATER – CATALANS

Brother of NRL star, Scott. Got a few starts for St George Illawarra in 2013 but took his opportunity by moving to the United Kingdom. Came back to Wests Tigers in 2015 but decided to return to the old dart. Since then, he has cut his teeth and deserves his spot in the grand final.

SIONE MATA’UTIA – SAINTS

In 2014, Mata’utia became the youngest ever player to represent the Australian Kangaroos. A fair accomplishment. One of many talented siblings, the former Knights flyer never quite accomplished what he wanted in Australia but has become a mainstay in England.

JOEL THOMPSON – SAINTS

Retiring at season’s end. What a great bloke. Does plenty for the game.

JAMES MALONEY – CATALANS

What can we say about this bloke? We all know him. A professional on-field who won premierships at the Roosters and Sharks and was oh so close at both the NZ Warriors and Panthers. A winner.

KEVIN NAIQAMA – SAINTS

A cult-hero player who gave great service to Wests Tigers over four years and an inspiration to the rugby league-loving people of Fiji.

AGNATIUS PAASI – SAINTS

Gave great service to both the Titans and Warriors – fans of both clubs love him for his toil and the blood he spilt.

DEAN WHARE – DRAGONS

A top-notch defensive NRL centre that never let down any side he played for. Began at Manly but made his name at the Panthers over an eight-year career.
