The Wests Tigers are set to be hit with a heavy salary cap penalty in relation to a deal done for club legend Robbie Farah according to The Sydney Morning Herald.

NRL CEO Todd Greenberg and other officials will decide how heavy to come down on Wests Tigers at a meeting on Tuesday where they’ll also decide what to do with Sharks coach Shane Flanagan who has been found to have had dealings with Cronulla while on suspension after the peptide scandal.

“The NRL has been investigating an undeclared arrangement worth more than $400,000 over four years promised to Farah during his ugly departure from the Tigers in 2016,” Andrew Webster writes.

“It is understood Tigers chief executive Justin Pascoe offered the ambassador role to Farah as a show of goodwill as Farah was pushed out of the club because of a fallout with then coach Jason Taylor, who was sacked in early 2017.”

Meanwhile premiership-winner Jamie Soward says there is immense pressure on Shaun Johnson to perform at the Sharks and Shane Flanagan would have no hesitation dropping Johnson if he doesn’t perform.

Writing for NRL.com, Soward believes Flanagan could bring Matt Moylan back into the halves for Johnson if he doesn’t fire.
