Former Penrith Panthers captain Matt Moylan says he will always be a westy at heart but that won’t stop him from running out for Cronulla this weekend and attempt to eliminate his old team from the premiership race.
Moylan and ex-Shark James Maloney were traded during the 2017 World Cup in November and neither have looked back.
The winner on Friday night will go through to Week Three and a clash with the Melbourne Storm.
“I’ve really loved my time down here [in Cronulla],” Moylan said.
“I’m loving it. It’s a good lifestyle, good club and good group of blokes and coaching staff.
“Obviously I grew up out there [Penrith]. So I’ll always be a westy. Just re-located I guess.
“I’m definitely grateful for the opportunity I had there. I had some good years.

“I think I was there for five or six years playing. Grateful for the opportunity I had but I’ve moved on and loving my time here.”
Friday night’s showdown at Allianz Stadium could also be Luke Lewis’ final game if the Sharks go down. Lewis is a legend of both clubs and won a grand final at each.
