The Queensland Maroons and New South Wales Blues have named their sides for Game I of the 2025 State of Origin series at Suncorp Stadium next week.
Billy Slater and the Maroons have decided to blood a couple of youngsters to make their debut with the struggling Kalyn Ponga given the custodian duties with Daly Cherry-Evans named captain again.
NSW and returning coach Laurie Daley have named a very strong side which had no room for the likes of James Tedesco, Jarome Luai and Api Koroisau:
