Ryan Matterson will not be leaving the Parramatta Eels according to his agent despite reports the club has been trying to shop the former NSW Blues tyro to several clubs – both here in the NRL and overseas.
The forward has spent the majority of 2025 in the NSW Cup under new coach Jason Ryles and has only been seen once in the NRL this year which came as a replacement in the side’s 50-point drubbing at the hands of the Raiders.
“He is contracted to Parra and no one has had a word to us from any camp, including the Eels,” Chris Orr told Wide World of Sports.
Matterson has again been named in NSW Cup this weekend alongside Bryce Cartwright who is reportedly also being squeezed out under the new regime and coach Ryles.
