The Friday night opening round match between the Dolphins and South Sydney has been moved to Parramatta due to Cyclone Alfred which is set to hit Brisbane on Thursday.
CommBank Stadium will now host this week’s game with the round 17 match becoming a Dolphins home game.
“The National Rugby League (NRL) has confirmed the Friday night contest between the Dolphins and South Sydney Rabbitohs would be shifted to CommBank Stadium due to the impact of Cyclone Alfred in south-east Queensland,” the NRL said in a statement.
“The game will be played at the same scheduled time of 8pm Sydney time (7pm Queensland time) on Friday, March 7.
“The NRL has made the decision today to allow for the appropriate changes to be implemented and acknowledges and thanks both the Dolphins and the Rabbitohs for their approach and co-operation.
“The NRL said the safety of players, fans and the community were the highest priority when considering the venue change.”
