Parramatta’s horror start to the year has gotten worse with star playmaker Dylan Brown confirming he will be leaving the Eels at the end of the season to take up a monster deal with the Newcastle Knights reportedly upwards of $14 million over ten years.
The Eels – under new coach Jason Ryles – were smashed by the Melbourne Storm in round one and trailed 46-6 at half-time.

“Dylan has been offered what I understand to be the biggest deal in NRL history from 2026 onwards,” Eels General Manager Mark O’Neill said.

“Dylan is a class player, we understand his decision to take up the offer and no one could begrudge him for accepting this opportunity for him and his family.
“Despite agreeing to terms with another NRL club for future seasons, Dylan remains committed to the Eels in 2025 and we look forward to him playing his role in the team for the remainder of the year.”
The Kiwi International confirmed the news on Instagram.
“Hello everyone, I have decided to take an opportunity that is best for me and my family,” Brown wrote.
“To the Blue and Gold family … nothing changes. I’m locked in for this year and we have a job to do. Love.”
Parramatta return home this weekend to play Wests Tigers.
Meanwhile former Penrith Panthers outside back Taylan May could be headed to those Wests Tigers are police charges were dropped on Monday.
Taylan’s brother Terrell just made his debut for the club in their ugly 10-8 loss to the Knights at Campbelltown.
“He was stood down pending charges of domestic violence,” ARLC boss Peter V’landys told NewsCorp.
“Those charges have now been dropped.
“To be fair to him, he can now play.
“If there are no police charges, there is no reason to stop him playing.”
