South Sydney’s injuries woes continue with superstar fullback Latrell Mitchell now ruled out for upwards of eight weeks after suffering a hamstring injury during the week.
Original reports suggested Mitchell would only miss this weekend’s Charity Shield against St George Illawarra but it is now expected he won’t be back until round six against Canterbury.
On the same day Mitchell hobbled off at training, teammate and fellow Kangaroo Cam Murray ruptured his Achilles tendon and may miss the entire season.
The Rabbitohs play the Dolphins in round one.
