Embattled Wests Tigers coach Benji Marshall has hinted young prop Stefano Utoikamanu’s future could be confirmed as early as this weekend with the side currently in Auckland for a match against the New Zealand Warriors.
Canterbury has thrown their name in to the hat for the front-rower’s services while Utoikamanu also recently met with the Melbourne Storm.
“We’ve had our discussions and at the end of the day he’s got a decision to make,” Marshall said from camp in Auckland.
“Everyone makes decisions on what’s going to suit them and what’s the best outcome for them and we’ll just let Stefano do that.
“We’d like to have him here without a doubt.
“I’m sure he’ll make the best decision for him and his family.”
Wests Tigers and the Warriors kick-off the NRL round from 6pm Sydney time.
