Former New South Wales coach Phil Gould has warned against the Blues getting ahead of themselves despite thrashing Queensland in Game II of the 2024 series.

The Blues now head to Suncorp Stadium for one of the toughest jobs in Australian sport – win a decider at Lang Park.

“What I will say is, regardless of what’s happened in Game I or II, it’s a completely different animal when we get to Queensland for a decider,” Gould said on Channel Nine in Melbourne.

“Both sides and certainly NSW need to be wary about coming off the back of this and expecting to roll into Game III and do the same because it won’t be.

“The decider in Queensland has been NSW’s Achilles heel for four decades and it’s a hurdle they’ve got to get over.”
