A Channel Nine promotion for State of Origin Game II has been scrapped after reaction from Queensland viewers.

The vision in question was Maroons star Reece Walsh getting knocked out in the opening minutes of Game I in Sydney.

NRL CEO Andrew Abdo pushed for it to be cut.

“Because it was an illegal and dangerous tackle, I didn’t believe it was in the best interests of the game, nor fair on the injured player, to show (that tackle),” Abdo told The Sydney Morning Herald.
