Incoming South Sydney Rabbitohs coach Wayne Bennett wants current interim boss Ben Hornby at the club in 2025 and beyond.

Hornby recently took over from Jason Demetriou who was sacked after a horror start to the year for the Redfern club.

“Absolutely, 100 per cent,” Bennett told The Sydney Morning Herald.

“We’re great friends.

“We won a premiership together (at the Dragons in 2010).

“We’re on the same page about our thoughts on the game.

“He’s also strong enough to tell me when I’m out of order, and vice versa.

“I have a great relationship with him. He’s a very good coach.”

Bennett also confirmed he would be keen to see Sam Burgess back at the club after his time as head coach of Warrington in England.
