Rugby league community reacts to the loss of much-loved character Terry Hill at the age of 52

Former Australia, NSW Blues, premiership-winner and Footy Show cult hero Terry Hill has passed away aged 52 while overseas.

The barnstorming centre had already stints in his career at Eastern Suburbs, South Sydney Rabbitohs and Western Suburbs before really making his name at the Manly Sea Eagles where he won a premiership under Bob Fulton in 1996 and featured in grand finals in 1995 and 1997.

Hill then signed with the newly-merged Wests Tigers in 2000 as one of the leaders of a new era alongside Jarrod McCracken.

He finished his career with one final stint at Manly.

Hill was also a much-loved character on the long-running cult TV series, The Footy Show.

The Newtown-born Hill played 246 first grade games scoring 89 tries, 9 games for Australia and 14 for the Blues.
