Club legend and former Canberra Raiders head coach David Furner has heaped praise on Jarrod Croker ahead of his 300th NRL game for the club this weeekend.
Furner was in the Wests Tigers coaching box last Saturday night in the match where Ricky Stuart controversially rested Croker so the cult hero could play his 300th in front of home fans against the Warriors.
“Playing 300 games for one club, I know it’s an easy thing to throw around but he will be a legend at the club,” Furner told NRL.com.
“What stands out for me is he is a tremendous goalkicker but you don’t just become a tremendous goalkicker.
“The work he put in to become that, when you talk about giving younger generations an example that’s the perfect one for me. Because of the discipline and routine you have to go through everyday to be a kicker, that’s Jarrod.”
The Raiders host the Warriors this Friday at 6pm.
