St Helens star Konrad Hurrell is racing the clock to be part of the club’s touring party to Australia to face Penrith in the 2023 World Club Challenge on February 18.
Hurrell and his partner Bec are expecting their first child on February 3rd – two days after the side flies out of England where the team will land in Sydney and head to Wollongong for a warm-up clash with St George Illawarra.
“Our first baby is due in the week that we’re leaving, so hopefully the baby will come a bit earlier, but the club knows about the situation, and I am going to take a different flight,” Hurrell said.
“I’m definitely planning to go to Australia, but it depends, because it’s my first child and I can’t not be there. Even if we have to wait an extra week, I am still intending to fly out to join the team.”
