Rugby league great Paul Gallen has backed Matt Lodge into the finals at the Sydney Roosters after a terrific start since transferring from the Warriors earlier this year.
Lodge has filled an important position in the middle of the field with several injuries to big name front-rowers.
“He has been great…when I saw he was signing at the Roosters, I’ve got to admit I scratched my head a little bit,” Gallen said on Nine’s 100% Footy.
“He’s not a player, with the history that he’s had, that the Roosters would normally sign.
“They went this year because they were light-on and he has been fantastic.”
