Legendary dummy half believes the current Penrith Panthers are already as good as any other of the champion sides of the last two decades.

Speaking on SEN, Smith says the defending premiers still have plenty left in the tank.

“They’re as good a side as any of the great ones that have come through in the last decade to 20 years,” he said.

“When you think of the great Broncos sides, the Roosters, Melbourne, teams that had sustained success, not just one-offs, they’re up there. The way you compare them is their record and theirs is incredible in the last three seasons.
