Peter Sterling is walking away from Channel Nine after almost three decades at the station at the end of the year in a huge shake-up their broadcast team.
According to Phil Rothfield at The Daily Telegraph, Sterling has told colleagues and friends his 27th season with Wide World of Sports will be last.
The report suggests Immortal Wally Lewis also won’t be there in 2022.
Sterling joined Nine in 1992 alongside Paul ‘Fatty’ Vautin before becoming one of the great expert commentators in the history of the sport. He and Vautin were also original members of The Footy Show where he spent decades in the chair.
