South Sydney legend Sam Burgess reportedly choked out a soldier while filming season two of Channel 7’s SAS Australia.

According to James Hooper on the Fox Sports website, Burgess was reacting to a scenario where contestants were kidnapped and driven at very high speeds to see how they would react.

Burgess at some point orders former runner John Steffensen to pull up the handbrake as Burgess overpowers one of the SAS instructors and puts him in a headlock.

“There’s been some tears, there’s been aggression,” chief instructor Ant Middleton told Kyle & Jackie O on KIIS FM last month.

“But I shut them down straight away.

“You get a different setting, a different group of people and personalities and it’s gonna be a different show, but a lot of people still pushed my buttons.”

The report says an ambulance was called for the soldier.

The new season of SAS Australia will premiere on Channel 7 and 7plus later this year.
