Queensland has ruled star fullback Kalyn Ponga out of Origin Game I after the team’s training run on Wednesday morning as he struggles with an ongoing groin injury.

It is expected Cowboys winger Kyle Feldt will make his Origin debut on the wing in front of his beloved home crowd in Townsville with fellow Cowboy Valentine Holmes shifting to fullback.

Feldt’s prowess in the air could prove a problem for the Blues – especially so after naming the shorter Brian To’o to make his debut.
