Penrith star Nathan Cleary will miss the Panthers Friday night blockbuster against the Parramatta Eels after NSW Blues coach Brad Fittler confirmed the playmaker is set for scans on his injured shoulder.
Cleary refused to come from the field in the second half as the Blues clinched the series in Brisbane 26-0.
“He’ll get his shoulder scanned,” Fittler said on SEN 1170 Breakfast.
“We’ll get his results today, but it’s looking pretty unlikely that he’ll play.
“He went down pretty hard on his shoulder Nathan.
“We’re just sort of hoping that everything will be good enough that he’ll be back fighting for the Panthers soon enough.
“He’s had a great start to the season, and he’s under a lot of pressure, but he more than stood up on the big stage.”
