Canberra Raiders star hooker Josh Hodgson told coach Ricky Stuart he was standing as co-captain more than two weeks ago according Brent Read on NRL 360 on Tuesday night.

Hodgson has been linked to a shock swift to the Brisbane Broncos but sources close to Red Hill are adamant they are not interested in the Englishman.

It has been a turbulent start to 2021 for the Raiders with Josh Papalii given time off from the game and disharmony between Stuart and certain players including Kiwi International Joe Tapine. The big forward’s wife took to Instagram and tore Stuart to shreds for his use of his interchange rotation after Canberra’s loss to South Sydney.

It has also been reported that English half George Williams is homesick and wants to return to the Super League.
