A NSW Blues great has urged selectors to stick with veteran forward Tyson Frizell ahead of Game I of the State of Origin series at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in three weeks.
Speaking to NRL.com, Robbie Farah selected the veteran second-rower in his starting line-up.
Farah went with Frizell alongside Angus Crichton and Victor Radley in his starting backrow.
“Working out who will start and who’ll come off the bench among the back-rowers and locks wasn’t easy. Yeo and Murray offer plenty of versatility coming off the interchange bench,” the one-time Wests Tigers hooker told the website.
Frizell has struggled for form at the embattled Knights in 2021 as Newcastle prepare for North Queensland this weekend.
